Waste Ecological Projects towards a circular society“We design and produce circular (plastic) concepts by means of mechanical or chemical recycling. We also develop renewable energy concepts by advanced plastic solutions (solar energy floating systems)”
WEP Circular is an international company with the aim of closing the plastic loop. By developing solutions that turn plastic waste materials into products, our goal is to avoid the pollution of our natural environment and create renewable circular value cycles with partners. By working in collaboration and in co-creation with partners in the whole value chain, we create circular plastic loops with the goal firstly to avoid waste and then to develop re-use solutions.
WEP Circular also focuses on creating solutions for recycling waste plastics by mechanical recycling (Plastics-to-Products) and chemical recycling for the non-recyclable waste plastics (Plastics-to-Chemicals). This is done in a circular way to avoid land filling, incineration and waste ending up in oceans and natural environments. WEP Circular has experience in developing sustainable supply chain collaboration networks and innovation projects. We also have experience in creating sustainable waste management strategies and operations, and developing innovative solutions with depolymerisation techniques.
WEP Circular has a partnership with the company Profloating in developing and manufacturing the Dutch solar floating system Flotar® for the production of renewable energy by placing solar panels on water (see www.profloating.eu).
Business models can be designed in a circular way from the very beginning: considering the source material streams and searching for ways to reduce waste, energy consumption and costs. READ MORE
Plastic to chemicals
Chemical recycling is repurposing plastic waste to obtain oil, which can be used as fuel or to create new plastic materials. Plastic to Chemicals is a great solution for non-recyclable waste plastic that usually ends up in landfills or being incinerated. So, it can be said that this method closes the molecular loop of plastics. READ MORE
Plastic to products
Mechanical recycling is the process through which plastic is recycled and directly used to create new products. This method is a suitable alternative to producing (virgin) plastic products, and switching to recycled plastic products. READ MORE
